Gym Policy & Cheesy Testimonials

Gym PolicyMy Gym is a ‘no attitude’ training studio. Our members range in age from sixteen to sixty and have varied fitness and strength levels. Everyone trains together at their own individual level. We don’t mind what that level is – as long as you work hard. We expect you to turn up to sessions on time, with a positive attitude and do your best. In return we will value your time, measure your results, bug you if we haven’t seen you at the gym for a while and do our best to design programs that you will get maximum benefit from. Illness or injury (or an absolutely killer hangover) are acceptable excuses not to train – you just ‘didn’t feel like it’ is unacceptable! AND for the cheesy testimonials...Sam has just started training with us at our new studio in HISCOES on Crown St in Surry Hills and says, "I'm really enjoying my group sessions, they're better than personal training - I work harder because I don't want to let anyone in the group down." Tracey has just headed home to England after training with us for over a year says..." I can honestly say that you guys really showed me how to enjoy exercise and it's the longest I ever stuck with it. I have just done my first class since I got home and I am feeling well below average, it really shows when you don't do anything for a few weeks! I'm going to keep it up though and I wore My Gym hoodie with pride!!" We also asked Don to write us something about his My Gym experience... "...Slightly more than six months I walked into My Gym in Alexandria and asked if it was the sort of place where I could drop in for some light structured training sessions to correct what I felt was my increasingly bad body posture, which I felt was developing after too many years of using a word processor. Now its six months later and Mac is asking me to write a short story on what I got out of all that time in the gym. Bottom line? I’m stronger - lifting heavy stuff is easier. And did I get anything else out of the experience other than idle curiosity about moving weight around? Well, marking a footy (AFL style) has been getting progressively easier which I attribute to much greater arm strength. I think I also found a few extra kicking yards. The whole gym “thing” has also been demystified enough for me to wander into one somewhere else one day and not feel too out of place. Hopefully I have also taken out some “muscle bulk insurance” which is good given at my tender age of 52 I’m supposed to be thinking about losing muscle bulk. I certainly have better posture and a stronger back and almost no lower back twinges. People comment that I look fitter which is nice. I definitely stand straighter and the feeling that my hunched shoulders are stopping me from breathing properly and not giving my heart enough room is gone..." Thanks Don!
