Mac is the muscles behind My Gym. He has worked as a personal trainer since 2002. Mac worked for many years at one of Sydney’s most established gyms, Hiscoes and also has experience in gyms in the U.K., Europe and the U.S. Mac specializes in weight training and martial arts, basically picking up heavy stuff and hitting things. He believes in training hard and playing hard too. He is a certified CrossFit instructor and has trained and fought Muay Thai Kick boxing at Rawai and Sinbi Gyms in Thailand. Mac says: "Hey folks. Exercise may not be your favourite thing in the whole world, I sincerely hope you have better things to do on your Friday night than run endless miles on a treadmill, but the ability to run, jump, pick stuff up and throw stuff around is absolutely vital to living a fulfilling life and it is surprisingly simple once you get started. We believe that form follows function. Learn how to move well, be strong, supple, agile and a smaller waist, broad shoulders, nice arms or whatever will happen naturally. And more importantly you will feel like a million dollars when you wake up in the morning. Getting stronger is awesome, being surprised at your own physical capability is very cool. The first time you find yourself running, smoothly and fast and flowing with your breath coming easily and the distance just falling away from you will have a smile on your face all day. The first time you do a body weight deadlift, a full push up, a chin up or you run a half marathon and you look back at the weight or the run or whatever and…. It’s a good feeling. It feels right." |
